As of today October 30, 2009, we have just a few things left before we can register our unwed mother's home. We have currently taken out the "children" currently, but still work with children.
Taitung has the highest underage unwed pregnancy rate in all of Taiwan. There are many many that aren't being reached because there is not other home like us in Taitung County.

As I write this, we have 2 moms here at the home. One mom, her family (single parent) does not know she is pregnant and does not want them to know. She has visited her family before she started showing.
The other mom, soon to be 20yr old, is due soon. Her family, another single parent family, felt it was "inconvienent" for her to be at home.
Here at Morning Light Home, the moms have a family. We eat lunch together, they participate in chores, there are Bible studies together and go to church together. Our "graduates" keep in touch with one another afterwards as well.
We have had birthday celebrations and it the first time they have had a birthday cake. One mom told me "so this is what a family feels like". That was a hard time for me. People say not to get to close to "cases" but how can you not? We want them to see God's love, if we don't get close....how will they see it?
Stories.....we have only opened our home for 8 months, and boy do I have stories to tell.....but one thing I can tell you for sure, is that these girls are in need of love and care...something they haven't gotten from their own home.

Pray for us as we work with this unwanted group in society. They have a bad rap, but they aren't bad.......
God put some people on earth and gave them hearts that easily break...
He put us in charge of his little ones and gave us unwavering faith...
That we would find these children homes in which the would find love...
To find them a family with a mom and dad who know they are a gift from above...
There is just one small problem God, these families all want children under two...
I just don't know what to tell my teens that no one wants them when they are feeling blue...
I have parents that call me every day and ask is there have a found the baby for whom they long...
I hold a ten year old hands that all she wants is somewhere to belong...
They are all children, gifts from God, but some don't have a home...
And While my heart breaks everyday for them I still go on...
For there are times when everything clicks, and a child finds his place...
And parents become a family when they open their hearts, to any age and any race.......author..Misty
